Recent efforts by the United States government to improve the EB5 investor immigration program were instead delayed, and the EB5 program in it’s current form will remain in place until September 2016.
What is the EB5? “The EB5 program was created by Congress 25 years ago to create jobs for American workers and to attract capital by offering foreign investors a green card for an investment of $ 500,000 for five years in a regional center project that has been approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). The program requires that each investor create at least 10 jobs, directly or indirectly, as part of the investment. There are over 650 regional centers that currently offer eligible investment projects. Each year 10,000 immigrant visas are allocated to investors under the program.”
